The BoardÂ’s Executive Council will present its final recommendations to the Board for approval.

Rainbow District School Board concluded its review of the French Immersion Program at the regular Board meeting on November 22, 2011. Trustees decided that elementary schools that currently offer French Immersion will continue to do so, including Lansdowne Public School.

Secondary schools that currently offer French Immersion will also continue to do so. Sudbury Secondary School will retain its program for 2014-2015 providing there are 45 Grade 9 and Grade 10 students enrolled in the program on October 31, 2013.

If there are not 45 students in Grades 9 and 10 on October 31, 2013, no new Grade 9 students will be enrolled in the French Immersion program effective September 2014. Students currently in the French Immersion program at Sudbury Secondary School will continue in the program until graduation.

Presentations will be limited to 10 minutes. Written copies must be made available prior to the meeting and submitted to the French immersion Program Review Committee for the minutes.

For those unable to attend public meetings or wishing to provide further feedback, written input will be accepted until Friday, June 10, 2011.
