Pinecrest Palooza May 24th

What is a Palooza?

School Council, Student Council, and the staff at Pinecrest have organized a fun-filled evening for everyone.The Palooza is similar to a Fun Fair. This is our fifth Palooza.Coupons are sold at .50ยข each.Games require anywhere from one of four coupons to play. Winners will be able to choose a prize from the Prize Room.Money raised from this event will go towards needed items/field trips that will enhance our school community.

What happens at the Palooza?

Enjoy a barbequed hamburger or hot dog served by our Principal Mr. Wallinford, and Mr. Gil-Alfau, the principal from Confederation High School.Visit with other parents and children while you check out the amazing items at the Penny Table and Silent Auction Table.Cotton Candy, Popcorn and Candy Kabobs are available for your indulgence.This is the perfect time to walk through the school and look at the various classrooms while watching the students play a variety of games.We also have our Parent Resource Centre displayed in the gymnasium.

NEW:Every student/child will receive a Palooza Passport.After playing five games and collecting a secret special “mark” on their passport indicating they have played each game, the student/child can bring their passport to the Prize Room and choose a prize!!!Everyone can win just by playing five games!!!!!

Featured Palooza Event

We have rented a Dunk Tank that will be full of 450 gallons of water.Come out and cheer on the students as they try to dunk Mr. Wallingford, Ms. Hurley and our Student Council Members!These courageous volunteers know that they will be outside regardless of weather – rain, sleet, or snow! Some of the games include the Ring Toss, Plinko, The Ice Challenge, Cake Walk, Sucker Pull, Hockey Shot, Darts, Minnow Races, Stinky Sponge Toss, Potato Sack Race …

How can parents/grandparents/ families help support this event?

You can help us by selling tickets to our event.The tickets cost $2 each or. The admission ticket gives you the chance to win one of three great prizes.The tickets will be sent home with your child (ren) very soon. Palooza Tickets can be sold to family, friends, neighbours, and co-workers.Remember, even if a person cannot attend the Palooza, by purchasing a ticket not only is it supporting our school, but it provides a chance to win a great prize!Most importantly, you can support this event simply by showing up!What a great way to spend time with other parents and feel more involved in our school community!All unsold tickets should be sent home with your child by May 22.

Penny Table Item:you can send in any time now, please label it so we can recognize your contribution.

Cake:bring a cake to the school the day of the event, the cakewalk is always a big hit and we need lots of cakes.The cake can be store bought or homemade and as fancy or as simple as you wish.We know you are very creative and we can’t wait to see your delicious creation!

Volunteering:we need help during the Palooza itself.(May 24th)
