Community

S. Geiger Public School is a busy hub as community members support our students in athletics, academics and the arts.  A strong group of parent and community volunteers work diligently to support special activities for students on a regular basis.  The community contributes to special events and activities such as our annual Spring Variety Show, Kindergarten Orientation Sessions, Massey Players Theatre Presentations, Public Speaking, Book Fairs, and our Thanksgiving Feast.

We also share our building with some of the youngest residents of the community as they attend the One Tot Stop Day Care.  We continue to enjoy their presence as we share the facility and collaborate whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Our School Council members are a dynamic group of individuals who put the students first with decisions they make.  Thanks to the exceptional fund raising efforts of our School Council and the wholehearted support of the community, our students are able to attend cultural and athletic activities that enrich their learning experiences.  As well, the School Council have raised funds for SMART boards in all our classrooms which have enhanced the learning environment for our students. Dedicated parents are making a difference at S. Geiger Public School.

A special thank you is extended to Voices of Spring, Massey Community Improvement Committee, Espanola Lions Club and Massey Players theatre group for their financial contributions towards indoor school improvements. This financial donation has enabled us to purchase SMART boards, step risers and resources to support the Arts Curriculum.
