Lively District Secondary School hosts Information Night on December 7th

Lively District Secondary School invites Grades 6 to 8 students and their parents/guardians to attend an Information Night on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 6 pm. All students are welcome to participate, regardless of which elementary school they currently attend.

“Lively District Secondary School provides programming for students from Grades 7 to 12,” says Principal Leslie Mantle. “Our information night will highlight some of the dynamic learning opportunities offered to students.”

Guests will have the opportunity to speak with current students, staff and parents/guardians about programs, including the specialized Integrated Technology Program (IT). Busing to Rainbow District School Board’s specialized secondary school programs is offered to students within Greater Sudbury.

The Integrated Technology Program (IT) at Lively District Secondary School combines a variety of core subjects with innovative technology classes. The school works in partnership with businesses and industry to provide relevant and meaningful activities to students through job shadowing, field trips and industry recognized certifications that prepare them to be competitive in a global market.

The IT program encourages problem solving through the design process, integrating digital technology and industry standard software and hardware. In order to meet the requirements for an IT certificate, College bound students will be required to complete six technology courses and maintain a minimum 70% average. University bound students will be required to complete four technology courses and maintain a minimum 80% average.

Lively District Secondary School is located at 265 Fifth Avenue in Lively.
