Alternative Programs

Alta Cambrian

Students, aged 16 to 18, who have difficulty succeeding in a traditional secondary school setting will benefit from the Rainbow District School Board’s Alta Cambrian program being offered in partnership with Cambrian College. The alternative setting, with small class sizes and individualized curriculum, focuses on active learning practices, the development of critical thinking skills and hands-on activities. Students earn credits, build social skills, develop links to community college programs as well as Youth Employment Services and explore pathways – work, apprenticeship, college and university. The program encourages students to stay in school or find viable employment.
