Science Fair

Students in Rainbow Schools participate in the Sudbury Regional Science Fair held in April of each year.

To participate in the Sudbury Regional Science Fair, students must first be selected to represent their school at the Rainbow District School Board's Elementary Science Fair.  From there students are selected to participate at the regional level.

A number of students in Rainbow Schools have had an opportunity to showcase their projects on a national level at the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Students create projects on a variety of topics including earth sciences, the environment, engineering, research and more.

Science fairs provide students with the opportunity to explore, learn and grow in a fun and dynamic way. It gives students an excellent opportunity to network with their peers and develop important skills. Science fairs promote public speaking, teamwork, presentation, preparation and critical thinking skills.

Students who invest time and effort into putting together a top-notch science fair project develop essential scientific skills that will allow them to be successful in the future.  They are capitalizing on their natural curiosity while enhancing their scientific skills, which can spark an interest in possible careers in the field of science.
