Located in Sudbury's growing South End, Algonquin Road Public School is committed to providing a learning environment in which students are encouraged to become life-long learners and caring citizens.

With a current enrolment of approximately 258 students, from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, Algonquin Road Public School offers a Before and After School Y.M.C.A. Daycare Program, full day every day junior and senior kindergarten, Special Education support services, after school tutoring, robotics and some of the best co-curricular Music and Sports Programs in the Rainbow Board!

Parents have always been important partners in education at Algonquin Road Public School. Their work within the school, and their support of student projects and excursions, is encouraged and appreciated. In co-operation with staff, Algonquin's School Council is committed to making Algonquin Road Public School responsive to the academic, athletic, social and emotional needs of all students.

Most recently, the school’s computer lab was upgraded. The hardware and software purchased, including a data projector and wireless networking capabilities, will enable students to better access programs that strengthen student literacy and numeracy across the curriculum. Every classroom has a minimum of four student computers and several classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards.

In addition, students, parents, and staff at Algonquin Road Public School have embarked on an ambitious plan to enhance the school’s grounds with the addition of basketball standards, tether-ball and volleyball courts, soccer posts, picnic tables, and a primary playground structure.
