Assiginack Public School is a World Class School that fundamentally believes in the statement, "It takes a whole community to raise a child." As a result, our school strives to foster equal and accountable partnerships among students,  parents and staff in a number of ways including:

Assiginack Public School is located in Manitowaning, Ontario which is known as the “The Village by the Bay."  It serves the townships of Assiginack and Tehkummah.

Assiginack prides itself on having a strong academic program while providing a caring and nurturing "family oriented" learning environment. We cover all aspects of the Ontario Curriculum and offer Core French from Grades 1 to 8. Our School also offers Ojibwe classes to Kindergarten and optional Ojibwe classes for Grades 1-8.

Assiginack Public School has had a long history of providing its students with an excellent arts and drama program. We are proud to have a partnership with the Debajehmujig Theatre Group. 

We  also offer a 150-minute physical education program, special education services for exceptional students and a twice weekly computer education program. Students have many opportunities to participate in various activities and sports throughout the year with thanks to the staff and parent volunteers of Assiginack Public School.

Technological enhancement has been a significant goal at our school. Our school currently maintains 21 computers in our computer lab and a smart board in each of our 5 classrooms.

Parents and volunteers play a vital role at Assiginack Public School in a number of ways - attending interviews, communicating closely with staff through daily agendas, volunteering in classrooms and for various school programs, supporting fundraising efforts, and assisting with coaching. Parental involvement has made Assiginack a dynamic school community. We continue to encourage parents and grandparents to come and read with our primary students.

Assiginack Public School has dedicated and caring staff  who work hard to provide our students with a wide variety of learning experiences.
