Now offering full day, every day Junior Kindergarten!
Monetville Public School is located on the Southwestern boarder of the Rainbow District School Board’s jurisdiction, delineated by Highway 64 East and East Road, in North Monetville, Ontario.
Following a boundary review, the catchment area was expanded to include the area west and south of Delamere Road in Alban to Highway 69 South. Families living in the French River region now have the choice of enrolling their children in Monetville Public School. This year, we welcomed three new families and their children from the Alban area.
Working in partnership with Better Beginnings Better Futures and Childhood Enfance, Monetville Public School is able to offer students a Nutrition Program. Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students start and continue their day with healthy, nutritious snacks five days a week.
Monetville Public School has a significant First Nations population (approximately 15%). We maintain close contact with the Dokis First Nation Education Officer to continue to foster community, improve communications and increase the learning skills of students in Grades 5 to 8.
Monetville believes that “It takes a community to raise a child”. Our curriculum emphasizes reading, writing, and mathematics, providing a solid foundation for future learning.
We also recognize the importance of character development and have initiated several programs to assist our students by actively promoting and rewarding positive behaviour.
Our “Anti-Bullying Campaign”, which includes the Assets Building Program, THRIVE, Roots of Empathy, D.A.R.E., Monthly Character Traits, and Pay It Forward, address critical areas of personal development.
We have also made a strong commitment to involve our parents and school community in character education. Parents have overwhelmingly endorsed the many programs in our school at meetings of the School Council.
This year, we will continue to support “THRIVE” (formerly known as Lions Quest). The program’s mission is to empower and support adults to develop healthy, capable young people of strong character. The program has been operational since 2000-2001 thanks to the support of many community businesses and service clubs.
We are proud of the many achievements of our students in academics, arts, and sports. With engaging programs, our school will continue to improve for the benefit of students, parents and the community at large.
