Students of Wembley Public School will now attend Princess Anne Public School!

Princess Anne Public School, home of the Panthers, is a JK to Grade 8 elementary school with a student population of approximately 410 and a dedicated staff of 50.  The school has been upgraded and renewed over the past 2 years.  This includes a brand new two-storey addition of approximately 29 000 square feet which houses a new gymnasium,  the Early Leaning Program  for 4 and 5 year olds, a music room, 10 new classrooms and a new Daycare sponsored by the YMCA for Infants, Toddlers and Pre-school age children!

Princess Anne Public School is located in the West End of Sudbury and our catchment area also includes the students who reside in the boundaries of the former Wembley Public School, which closed in June, 2011.

Our building houses 16 regular program classes from Early Learning (4 and 5 year olds) to Grade 8 and 6 Intensive Support Programs. The intensive support programs assist the learning of special needs students.  The individualized programming in these classes provides students with opportunities to maximize their potential.  Students in these programs are drawn from Sudbury Central, West End and South End areas.

Princess Anne Public School is a diverse and inclusive school community.  Students have the option of taking French or Ojibwe as a Second Language.  Further, we offer a wide range of learning resources and expertise to service students of all learning styles and special needs; We have a wide range of technology including Smart Boards, mobile computer labs and assistive technology.  We pride ourselves in our ability to offer high quality special education programming.

Princess Anne Public School is also noted for its strong extra curricular programs in the areas of cross country running, volleyball, basketball, soccer and track and field. 

Princess Anne Public School has developed a variety of initiatives and partnerships.  We offer a full breakfast program daily sponsored through Breakfast Clubs of Canada.  We are proud to be offering full-day Daycare for infants, toddlers and pre-school aged children through the YMCA Daycare starting in September 2011.  Further, the YMCA will also be providing “Before and After School Programs” for 4 and 5 year olds in our Early Learning Programs and for students aged 6-12.  For more information, please contact the YMCA Child Care Services at 705-674-8315.
