Jun 21 - UPDATE! Bill Roman top honours were awarded to the St Charles four-some of Peter Stankiewicz, Brian Szwed, Rick Emond and Mike Scott. The Cards posted an 18-hole scramble total of 60, 10 under for the day, which was just one stroke better than the Gabe Guzzo Memorial Trophy recipient which was presented to the Lockerby quartet of Leland McQuarrie, Bob Smith, Daryl Fox and Paul Brunelle.

Jun 18 - A total of golfers, thought to be the highest total in the history of both events, have signed up for the annual SDSSAA male coach and female coach golf tournaments. The men's event, known as the Bill Roman Memorial Golf Tournament (160 golfers representing 17 schools), will take place Wednesday, June 23rd at the Forest Ridge Golf Club, while the ladies (80 golfers representing 14 schools) will play at the Colonial Golf Course.

Jun 16 - Lasalle Secondary School will be the first school to repeat as team champions in the 3rd annual SDSSAA Boys Slo-Pitch Tournament that was hosted back on June 1st. The Lancers (photo attached) have quickly emerged as the class of the field, going 11-0 over the past two years, even though this year it couldn't have been much closer. Lancers nipped St Charles 11-10 in the quarters, Chelmsford 12-10 in the semis and Sacre-Coeur 15-14 in the final. It just doesn't get much closer than that.

Meanwhile, in girls slo-pitch competition, the Notre-Dame Alouettes girls slo-pitch team cruised to their sixth consecutive Slo-Pitch title on May 29th, their 10th such banner in the past eleven years. The Als' second entry into the tournament won the consolation side as well.
