LAURA SCHAUPPEL
Marymount Academy

Age: 16 - Grade: 11 - Sports: Alpine Skiing, Volleyball, Rowing & Tennis

Laura has been a wonderful addition to the Marymount community and to our athletic program. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude exemplify all of the personality traits that we promote at Marymount.
Hailing from Germany, and currently on a year-long student exchange, Laura appeared at the top of the standings in the SDSSAA and NOSSA alpine skiing events and qualified for OFSAA at Blue Mountain. Unfortunately, she could not attend due to injury.

Recently, Laura was a huge part of the NOSSA winning Girls’ volleyball team and will be traveling with the team to Kenora to participate in OFSAA.

Laura enjoys competing and also loves to play the saxophone with the concert band. She has a huge support system at home in Germany and here in Canada with her host family. Laura’s biggest inspirations are her family.

Laura greatly appreciates the time and effort that her teammates and coaches have put in and explains that “Different coaches teach me new styles and it will help me in Germany to improve my skills and to teach and coach other people through my own experiences.”
