Some bus routes cancelled due to school bus driver shortage

Update:
Two additional bus routes have been cancelled – Route L013 and LW202

Original News Release:
The Sudbury Student Services Consortium wishes to inform the public that 23 School Bus Routes will not be running the first week of school since they do not have drivers for the coming academic year.

COVID-19 has greatly impacted one local school bus operator, as many of their drivers have decided not to return behind the wheel.

All affected parents will receive an automated call, before the end of day today (Monday, September 7, 2020), and the information will be posted on the Sudbury Student Services Consortium website www.businfo.ca.

The Sudbury Student Services Consortium is working closely with school bus operators in finding solutions and ensures that recruitment efforts are ongoing.

The Consortium apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to parents, students and schools.

Anyone interested in becoming a school bus driver should contact Leuschen Transportation at 705.674.0708.
