2022-2023 Annual Report for Rainbow Schools now available online

Rainbow District School Board’s Annual Report for the 2022-2023 school year is now available online at rainbowschools.ca – https://bit.ly/rsannualreport22-23.

The Annual Report provides a snapshot of how the Board’s strategic priorities are being implemented in Rainbow Schools. Guided by its vision, mission and values, the Board is making great strides in mental health and well-being, literacy and numeracy, student success and achievement, environmental education and sustainability, truth and reconciliation, and equity and inclusive education.

“While each priority supports a specific focus, together, they combine to ensure that students receive a well-rounded and well-grounded education, with life skills and learning skills,” said past Chair Bob Clement. “We want all students to see themselves as capable and contributing members of society as they grow through the grades, graduate, and make their way into the world of work, apprenticeship, independent living, college and university.”

“The 2022-2023 school year represents the first year of implementation of Strategic Directions which provides the purpose for the work that we do and the framework for the allocation of resources,” said Director of Education Bruce Bourget. “I commend the Board of Trustees for being clear on their goals and intentional in their governance. Their leadership enables us to engage students in dynamic and relevant learning opportunities in the classroom and in the community.”

He added: “In Rainbow Schools, we are grateful for the talented instructional leaders, educators and support staff who understand the importance of their role, value their work, and recognize that what they do matters. Whether on the stage, in the shop, on the court or in the field, our students continue to shine. Supportive parents/guardians, dedicated coaches and dynamic partners join with us to inspire student success and achievement.”

School Boards are required to produce an Annual Report in accordance with The Education Act. The Annual Report provides highlights of Rainbow District School Board’s key activities during the 2022-2023 school year. It also offers an overview of the 2023-2024 budget.
