Topic 1 Elementary/Secondary: Health and Safety Training, Anti-Sex Trafficking

Description: School staff will review prevalent medical condition protocols / procedures. Staff will review annual Health and Safety training as well as policies and procedures designed to keep students and staff safe and healthy at school.
Staff will also review procedures related to bullying: recognition and responses, child sexual abuse prevention and reporting (Erin’s Law), duty to report children in need of protection to a child welfare agency, Provincial Code of Conduct, progressive discipline, violence prevention and violent incident reporting, as well as student safety plans.

Topic 2 Elementary/Secondary: Consistent Classroom Delivery and New Curriculum Updates

Description: Staff will receive information about board resources to support instructional and assessment practices. This will include information on board-developed resources to support mathematics and literacy instruction. Secondary staff will receive information related to the Financial Literacy requirement for secondary schools, as well as attendance and participation, with an emphasis on understanding and applying the criteria for the determination of final grades related to attendance and participation. Information about the use of student digital resources will be shared. Kindergarten staff will conduct entry interviews with parents/guardians.

Topic 1 Elementary/Secondary: Consistent Classroom Delivery and New Curriculum, School Improvement Planning

Description: Staff will review school data and engage in planning related student achievement and academic programming. Led by school administrators with support from central staff, schools will review implementation of high-yield strategies for instruction and assessment and engage in goal-setting for the upcoming school year. Kindergarten staff will receive information related to the new Kindergarten Curriculum and literacy best practices.
