Topic 1 (Elementary/Secondary): Literacy/Mathematics/Student Achievement Plan and Data Analysis

Description: School teams will focus attention on their school’s Student Achievement Plan. School administrators will work with school-based staff to develop achievable goals that will increase students’ success in areas of math and literacy, as well as engagement, well-being and belonging. School staff will meet in-person to conduct data analysis of each school’s student achievement data (e.g., EQAO, initial fall assessments) to set goals for their School Improvement Plan and plan for high impact practice. Schools will also select the Key Performance Indicators from the provincial Math Action Plan to advance the Numeracy goals within the School Improvement Plan.

Topic 1 (Elementary/Secondary): Cell phones and Vaping / Bullying and School Safety / Mental Health

Description: In accordance with Policy/Program Memorandum 128 released in June 2024, staff will review the new requirements of the Provincial Code of Conduct which includes provisions related to Student Personal Mobile Device Use and Vaping. School staff will also review Student Safety Plans, Violence Prevention programs and learn how to best support the mental health and well-being of students through the use of The First 10 Days resource from School Mental Health Ontario (SMHO). This training is facilitated by school administrators.

Topic 2 (Elementary/Secondary): Occupational Health and Safety Training / PPM 161

Description: In this presentation prepared by our Health and Safety Officer, school staff will review prevalent medical conditions and renew their yearly mandatory Occupational Health and Safety training which includes Ministry regulations, policies and procedures designed to keep staff and students safe and healthy at school. This training is facilitated by school administrators.
