Confederation students host Christmas Is Giving Food Drive December 7th

Confederation Secondary School will host its annual Christmas is Giving Food Drive on Tuesday, December 7th.  In partnership with area food banks, students will pick up non-perishable food items around the community of Valley East and Capreol.  All donations will be given to the Good Neighbour Food Bank and the Capreol Food Bank.

There will be many opportunities for the community to contribute. Residents can drop-off donations at Camspec in McRae Heights on their way to work from 7 am to 9 am.

From 9 am until the end of the school day, Confederation Secondary School students will be bussed to various locations within Valley East and Capreol where they will canvass door-to-door.  Residents who will not be home and would like to donate are invited to leave a bag or box of canned food at their front door.

For those houses that may have been missed, residents can bring their donations to Confederation Secondary School any time between 7 am and 9 pm from December 7th to December 10th.

Monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted. Donations can be made at Confederation Secondary School during regular school hours. Please note that students will not be collecting monetary donations when they go door-to-door.

Confederation Secondary School thanks all community partners for their support of this initiative, including Northway Bus Lines, Valley Growers, Camspec, Food Basics, Tim Hortons in Val Caron, Caisse Populaire in Val Caron, Metro and RP Signs.

“At Confederation Secondary School, we encourage responsible citizenship in our students,” said Principal Pablo Gil-Alfau. “The Christmas is Giving Food Drive has become an annual tradition. We invite the entire community to join with us in making this Christmas a season to remember.  We extend happy holidays to the entire community!”
