Lively District Secondary School hosts Empowering Parents info sessions
The School Council from Lively District Secondary School will host information sessions aimed at empowering parents on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. This free event will take place in the school gym from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. Doors open at 6 pm.
The information sessions will explore a number of topics – life/school balance, excessive screen time, lack of sleep, overscheduling, teens and drugs, informed consent, and online safety. Parents/guardians will also be introduced to the Google Classroom platform.
Presenters include the Child and Family Centre, Greater Sudbury Police and Public Health Sudbury & Districts.
“We are very excited to host this special evening for parents,” says Lively District Secondary School Principal Leslie Mantle. “We want them to walk away feeling empowered with important resources, tips and tricks for nurturing responsible teenagers into young adulthood. Everyone is welcome.”
