Lively District Secondary School hosts High School 101 on February 7th

Jessie Doyle, a Grade 12 student in the Innovative Integrated Technology Program and the Specialist High Skills Major in Information and Communications Technology at Lively District Secondary School prepares the Tormach CNC lathe machine for cutting.

Lively District Secondary School invites students entering Grades 9 and 10 and their parents/guardians to a High School 101 information session on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 7 pm in the school library.

High School 101 will cover a plethora of topics including pathways and programs, timetables, course options, diploma requirements, dual credit and co-op opportunities, as well as Specialist High Skills Majors offered at Lively District Secondary School in four sectors – Environment, Information and Communications Technology, Mining and Sports.

Students can also learn about and register for the Innovative Integrated Technology (InIT) Program. Students who qualify for InIT receive transportation to and from school.

“During High School 101, students will get a firsthand look at the secondary school experience,” says Lively District Secondary School Principal Susan Kett. “Students entering Grade 10 will also learn how to select pathways that match their future goals and aspirations.”

She adds: “We encourage students and their parents/guardians to join us – regardless of which elementary school they currently attend. Everyone is welcome to explore life at Lively.”

Lively District Secondary School is located at 265 Fifth Avenue in Lively.
