Rainbow Schools fight hunger and feed hope with annual Christmas food drive

Students and staff in Rainbow Schools will once again fight hunger and feed hope by participating in a virtual version of the annual Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive.

Instead of canvassing door-to-door and collecting food items, schools will accept monetary donations for the campaign safely and securely using School Cash Online.

Did you know that every dollar donated to the Sudbury Food Bank translates into $6 of food?

Did you know that one donation to the Sudbury Food Bank helps 40 local food providers feed thousands every month?

“Year after year, staff and students work tirelessly to support their communities,” said Director of Education Norm Blaseg.

“This year’s food drive is more important than ever as there is a significant increase in demand for food services because of the pandemic.”

He adds: “We encourage those who can to please contribute to the Food Drive. Every dollar counts!”

Interested individuals can donate online at rainbowschools.schoolcashonline.com.

“The donations will go to all the food banks in our jurisdiction, benefiting students and families in all of our school communities,” said Director Blaseg.

“We thank everyone for joining with us to collect one more dollar for six more cans.”
