School Profile

Home of the Nitros

Carl A. Nesbitt Public School provides an exciting and challenging learning environment.  Our aim is to foster a life-long love of learning for all.   When walking through the school, you will be welcomed by a dedicated staff that works together to create a child-friendly environment.  At Nesbitt School, we recognize and promote Canada’s linguistic duality through instruction and extra curricular learning activities in french.

Unique to Nesbitt School is the Enriched Math Program that involves grade 7 and 8 students.  Nesbitt students have received honours both in locally and provincially sponsored mathematics competitions.   We are very proud of our math students and their teacher, Mr. Sutherland, who continues to volunteer his time to support this program.

Many extra-curricular activities and special events add richness to a student’s life at Nesbitt Public School.  Our students are provided with a wide range of opportunities for participation and Nesbitt students continue to garner awards and recognition for their achievements. Before and after school programs are available. Please contact the school for more details.

We have recently purchased macBook laptops for our intermediate students and iPads for our primary junior students. This technology has enhanced the learning opportunities for our students and has provided additional computer time for students in all grades.

The success of our students and a commitment to their growth and development as individuals will continue to be the cornerstone for all decision-making and programming at Carl A. Nesbitt Public School.  By working together and establishing positive communication between home and school, we will continue to contribute to your child’s successes.
