ASSISTANT MANAGER INFORMATION SERVICES

Rainbow District School Board is the largest school board in Northern Ontario, with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island.  We are looking for a dynamic information services professional with exceptional interpersonal and management skills to take on the role of Assistant Manager Information Services for the Board.

Under the direction of the Manager Information Services, you will be responsible for providing leadership and support of corporate applications and project management for information technology related initiatives.  You will provide supervision, direction and project coordination for a team of Information Technology Support Technicians who provide technical support services to schools and help desk services.  You will work on projects to support the board management team, school staff and board office departments.

A post secondary degree in an information technology field, extensive experience in information and communication technologies and services, and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of current digital technologies including cloud based, mobile and virtual computing is required.  You will have excellent leadership, management, organizational, interpersonal, communication and systems analyst skills.  Demonstrated analytical, planning, problem solving skills and successful project management experience are also essential.  Previous experience supervising staff in a unionized workplace is required.

PERMANENT EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT – MONETVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires a permanent Educational Assistant at Monetville Public School.  An Educational Assistant is a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team who works to enhance the learning and well being of exceptional students within Rainbow District School Board.  The Educational Assistant delivers program to exceptional students and provides collaborative input which is a integral in the delivery of program interventions to exceptional students.

The successful candidate must have a Developmental Service Worker Diploma or Child and Youth Worker Diploma and experience working with school aged children.

TEMPORARY SOCIAL WORKER – (August 2021 to July 2022)

Rainbow District School Board requires a Temporary Social Worker to work supporting our schools.  Under the supervision of the Mental Health Lead, the successful candidate will provide social work services that build knowledge of mental health, promoting mentally healthy habits and skills.  The social worker will facilitate whole class based interventions to support the acquisition of resilience skills.  Consultation and collaboration with school personnel, parents and community agencies will enhance the academic success and social-emotional wellbeing of each student.

Candidates must have a Masters in Social Work, be registered with the College of Social Workers of Ontario and have extensive training and experience working in the area of youth mental health and group work.  Candidates should have knowledge of relevant legislation and excellent communication and report writing skills.  Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is required.

COMMUNICATIVE DISORDER ASSISTANTS (3)

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires three (3) Communicative Disorder Assistants to work supporting our schools.  The Communicative Disorder Assistants will provide support in the delivery of speech-language pathology services for students with communication needs in regular and specialized settings as assigned and supervised by board Speech Language Pathologists in compliance with Board policies and procedures.

The successful candidates must have a post graduate certificate from an accredited CDA program, be registered with the Communicative Disorder Assistant Association, have a minimum of 3 years related experience, have knowledge and experience in the area of applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).  Proficient verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

1 Permanent And 1 Temporary Speech Language Pathologist

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires 1 permanent and 1 temporary (August 2021 to July 2022) Speech Language Pathologist.  Reporting to the Principal of Special Education Programs and Services, the Speech and Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing supervision, direction and support to the Communicative Disorder Assistants and to provide input and guidance to special education staff on the development and implementation of special education plans with respect to communication and speech issues at an individual student and system wide level.

The successful applicant must be a fully qualified speech and language pathologist.  Must have experience working in assessment and in making recommendations to assist in the development of programs for individuals between the ages of 4 and 18.  Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work with parents, other professionals and students.

Contract Psychometrist (Part time August 2021 to July 2022)

Reporting to the Principal of Special Education Programs and Services, the successful candidate will conduct psycho-educational assessments for students enrolled in our schools and work with local area teams to contribute to the development of intervention programs for students in grades JK to 12.

The successful candidate must have a master Degree in Psychology or related discipline and possess experience conducting psycho-educational assessments and making recommendations to assist in the development of programs for individuals between the ages of 4 and 21.  Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work with parents, other professionals and students.

CASUAL CLEANERS – MANITOULIN ISLAND

Rainbow District School Board invites applications for Casual Cleaners to work in schools on Manitoulin Island.  The ability to work day and afternoon shifts is required.

Successful candidates must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, be physically capable of performing cleaning duties, the ability to work independently and good written and oral communication skills.  Preference will be given to those individuals with cleaning experience.
