Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires 3 Communicative Disorder Assistants to work supporting our schools. The Communicative Disorder Assistants will provide support in the delivery of speech-language pathology services for students with communication needs in regular and specialized settings as assigned and supervised by board Speech-Language Pathologists in compliance with Board policies and procedures.

The successful candidates must have a post graduate certificate from an accredited CDA program, be registered with the Communicative Disorder Assistants Association, have a minimum of three years related experience, have knowledge and experience in the area of applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).  Proficient verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are required, as well as proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

SOCIAL WORKER

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires a Social Worker to work supporting our schools. Under the supervision of the Mental Health Lead the successful candidate will provide social work services that addresses interventions for children and adolescents with complex needs. The social worker will perform clinical assessment and intervention with individual students. From an attachment informed perspective this includes supporting intervention with families. Consultation and collaboration with school personnel and community agencies will enhance the academic success and social-emotional wellbeing of each student.

The successful candidate must have a Masters in Social Work, be registered with the College of Social Workers of Ontario and have extensive training and experience working in the area of youth mental health, trauma work and family based treatment. Candidates should have knowledge of relevant legislation and excellent communication and report writing skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team is required.
