COMMUNICATIVE DISORDER ASSISTANT

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires three (3) Communicative Disorder Associates to work supporting our schools.  The Communicative Disorder Assistant will provide support in the delivery of speech language pathology services for students with communication needs in regular and specialized settings as assigned and supervised by board Speech Language Pathologists in compliance with Board policies and procedures.

The successful candidate must have a post graduate certificate from an accredited CDA program, be registered with the Communicative Disorder Assistants Association, have a minimum of three years related experience, have knowledge and experience in the area of applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).  Proficient verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

TEMPORARY SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Rainbow District School Board with schools in Sudbury, Espanola and Manitoulin Island requires a Temporary (September 2021 to July 2022) Speech Language Pathologist.  Reporting to the Principal of Special Education Programs and Services, the Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing supervision, direction and support to the Communicative Disorder Assistants and to provide input and guidance to special education staff on the development and implementation of special education plans with respect to communication and speech issues at an individual student and system wide level.

The successful candidate must be a fully qualified Speech Language Pathologist.  Must have experience working in assessment and in making recommendations to assist in the development of programs for individuals between the ages of 12 and 18.  Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work with parents, other professionals and students.

PERMANENT PSYCHOLOGIST AND PSYCHOMETRIST

Reporting to the Principal of Special Education Programs and Services, the successful candidate for the Psychologist position will provide clinical supervision to the psychometrists employed by the board, complete psycho-educational assessments and provide diagnostic services to students.  The successful candidate for the Psychometrist position will conduct psycho-educational assessments for students enrolled in our schools and work with local area teams to contribute to the development of intervention programs for students in grades JK to 12.

Candidates for the Psychologist position must be a Doctoral Level Clinical Psychologist or Psychological Associate registered within the province of Ontario and have experience conducting clinical assessments and making recommendations to assist in the development of programs for students.  Candidates for the Psychometrist position must have a Masters Degree in Psychology or related discipline and possess experience conducing psycho-educational assessments and in making recommendations to assist in the development of programs for individuals between the ages of 4 and 21.  Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to work with parents, other professionals and students.

CONTRACT ATTENDANCE COUNSELLOR – (As soon as possible for an indefinite period)

Rainbow District School Board invites applications for the position of Contract Attendance Counsellor.  The Attendance Counsellor will provide support to students and their families around attendance issues; act as a advocate for students in relation to specific individual needs; and work intensively with students, in cooperation with in-school staff to enhance school achievement and personal management skills.

The successful candidate must have a social services diploma or a social work degree or equivalent education with previous experience.  A working knowledge of professional standards and code of ethics of the College of Social Worker or Social Services Worker, as well as knowledge of the Ontario judicial system and legislation related to children and youth.  Excellent communication skills, ability to record with clarity, conciseness and accuracy as well as the ability to be self-directed and have the ability to manage own caseload.
