Sudbury Secondary School Presents “Merry Melodies” – A Festive Evening of Music
Sudbury Secondary School’s talented young musicians and vocalists will spread holiday cheer at Merry Melodies, a magical evening of music on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 7 pm in the Sheridan Auditorium.
This much-anticipated event will feature performances by the school’s Concert Band, Starfire Choir, and Junior and Senior Vocal Choirs, with special guest artists The Northern Brass Choir.
Admission is by donation, with all proceeds going towards the Joan Mantle Music Trust, supporting music education in Rainbow Schools.
The evening promises an eclectic mix of instrumental and vocal music, including timeless holiday classics and contemporary arrangements sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
“We’re incredibly proud of our students and the dedication they bring to their craft,” says Rachel Whitehead, Sudbury Secondary School’s Instrumental Music Teacher. “They’ve worked tirelessly to prepare an evening that will fill hearts with joy and showcase the transformative power of music.”
Vocal Music Teacher Vanessa Chevrette shared her excitement for the evening: “This event truly highlights the spirit of the season. Hearing these young voices and musicians come together to create something so beautiful is a reminder of the magic that happens when creativity meets community.”
Adding to the evening’s enchantment, The Northern Brass Choir will bring their rich sound and festive flair to the stage, making Merry Melodies a must-see event for everyone to get into the holiday spirit.
