Update: August 25, 2026

Following the January 2026 cyber incident, GAEL underwent a comprehensive security review and significant security enhancements before being brought back online. The platform is now protected by a strengthened security framework. Additional security improvements including multi-factor authentication, automatic alerts for suspicious account activity, stricter controls on API connections, and an updated log retention policy have also been implemented. The investigation is now closed.

January 2026

The Ontario DELF Centre (010715) has been informed by France Éducation International of a cybersecurity incident involving the GAEL platform, which is managed and operated by France Éducation International and used to register candidates for the Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) examination. The incident occurred between January 9 and 12, 2026.
