Anishinaabemowin Toolkit

Rainbow District School Board has developed Anishinaabemowin Toolkit for families who have children studying Anishinaabemowin and would like to support their language learning at home.

This site includes vocabulary audio files in Ojibwe and English.

We would like to acknowledge Margaret Young for allowing us to use the vocabulary resource document that she compiled in the first phase of this project.

Having the Anishinaabemowin Toolkit to support language acquisition demonstrates Rainbow District School Board’s continued commitment to First Nations, Métis and Inuit learners and their families.

Anishinaabemowin classes are available to all students in a number of Rainbow Schools, as we share and value First Nations, Métis and Inuit traditions and culture.

Rainbow District School Board expresses its gratitude to the First Nations Advisory Committee for its input and ongoing commitment to supporting First Nations initiatives in Rainbow Schools, including this toolkit.
