Enjoy soccer and more in our multi-use sports facility – the first of its kind in Greater Sudbury.
Located at Lasalle Secondary School – 1545 Kennedy Street in Sudbury – the Lancer Dome gives the community access to covered artificial turf in all seasons.
The Dome can be booked for various sports and sporting activities – from soccer to cricket, flag football, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, slopitch and dryland training.
For organization or a group of individuals, the Lancer Dome is a great space to get active in rain, sunshine, snow or sleet.

The Dome is now open for community use bookings Monday through Friday after 6 pm.
Weekend bookings will be open starting Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Note: When using the Online Permit Application System, you do not need to register or login to check facility availability. On the landing, click the calendar icon in the top right corner, then select Filter to find a facility.
Here’s what you need to know:
Hours of Operation
The Lancer Dome is open Monday to Friday from 6 pm to 11 pm as well as weekends. The Dome is also open for holidays, except statutory holidays.
The Dome is closed during school days for athletic and academic programs in Rainbow Schools, as we promote healthy, active living for student achievement and well-being.
Fees
The Dome has three smaller soccer fields convertible to one large FIFA regulation soccer field.
RENTAL FEES:
Mini field: $145 per hour
Full field: $400 per hour
SUMMER RENTAL FEES:
Mini field: $85 per hour
Full field: $200 per hour
Payment accepted using VISA and Mastercard only.
Please note: A $50.00 fee will apply for all declined credit card transactions.
Field House
The Lancer Dome field house is equipped with a water-filling station, two change rooms, one accessible washroom and two gender-neutral washrooms. Benches and lockers are also available for player use.
Capacity
The Lancer Dome has a capacity limit of 300 people.
Rules
Only water is permitted in the Dome. No food or drinks are allowed.
Outdoor footwear is NOT permitted on the turf.
Proper sportswear is required ie. t-shirt, shorts, pants, track jacket.
Proper footwear is required on the turf at all times. See diagram.
Access to the turf is reserved for players, referees and coaches only.
Spectators must remain on the armored pathway around the perimeter of the Dome as well as the bleacher area.
No spectators are permitted on the fields at any time.
No chairs or tables are allowed on the fields.
Hard baseballs and/or pitching machines are not to be used on the fields at any time.
It is strictly prohibited to:
- Use vacant fields
- Hold on to the dividing curtains
- Hold on to goals and nets
- Eat, spit or chew gum on the fields
- Leave empty bottles on the fields
