Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School hosts Open House on January 15th

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School will host an Open House for students and their parents/guardians on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. An information session for Grade 6 students will take place at 6 pm, while those in Grade 8 are welcome to join at 7 pm.

All students are invited to participate regardless of which school they currently attend.

“Our Open House will highlight the many programs and co-curricular activities available to students at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School,” says Principal Pamela Potvin. “Take a tour of the school, speak with staff, and explore the many opportunities that will prepare students for their future.”

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School offers French Immersion programming to students in Grades 7 and 8, as well as English and French Immersion in Grades 9 to 12. Lo-Ellen Park is home to the world-renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which encourages critical thinking, research skills, inquiry and reflection. Students graduating with an IB Diploma can earn up to three first-year university credits. Greater Sudbury students who qualify for IB receive transportation to and from school.

The school also offers Specialist High Skills Majors in five sectors: Business – Personal Finance; Construction – Architectural and Technology Design; Environment – Sustainable Agriculture; Manufacturing – Engineering, Design + Innovative Technology (EDIT); and Transportation – Automotive. In addition, students enjoy programs that showcase their creativity including music, drama and visual arts.

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School provides a learning environment fit for the 21st century with bright classrooms, a cafeteria with café-style setting, contemporary libraries, modern science labs, and technology shops for construction, manufacturing, transportation, computer science, robotics and engineering. Students can also enjoy a variety of outdoor amenities including revitalized basketball and tennis courts and a brand new outdoor rink.
