“Youth vaping continues to be a major health concern,” said Rainbow District School Board Mental Health Lead Sarah Clarke. “Parents and guardians can become powerful allies in helping their children quit by learning how to engage in a dialogue with their teens.”
“Parents and guardians play a critical role in helping young people make healthy choices,” said Janelle Hanson, Specialist, Nicotine Cessation and Programs with the Lung Health Foundation. “This webinar offers the knowledge and tools they need to feel confident in supporting their teen’s journey to quit, without judgment or pressure. It’s a chance to learn how to have conversations that actually work.”
During the webinar, parents/guardians will refresh and expand their understanding of vaping and its hidden dangers, learn how to approach youth with empathy and openness, gain actionable strategies for encouraging their teen to quit vaping, discover how stress can influence a teen’s decision to vape and how to support healthier coping methods, and understand Ontario’s new school vaping regulations.
