Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School will host an Open House for students and their parents/guardians on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. An information session for Grade 6 students will take place at 6:30 pm, while those in Grade 8 are welcome to join at 7 pm.

Students must be in the boundaries of Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. For the International Baccalaureate Program, all students are invited to participate regardless of which school they currently attend.

“Our Open House will highlight the many programs and co-curricular activities available to students at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School,” says Principal Pamela Potvin. “Take a tour of the school, speak with staff, and explore the many opportunities that will prepare students for their future.”

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School offers French Immersion programming to students in Grades 7 and 8, as well as English and French Immersion in Grades 9 to 12. Lo-Ellen Park is home to the world-renowned International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which encourages critical thinking, research skills, inquiry and reflection. Students graduating with an IB Diploma can earn up to three first-year university credits. Greater Sudbury students who qualify for IB receive transportation to and from school.

Grade 9 students Landen Del Mastro, left, Julia Cecutti, Quinn Leduc, Daisy Cing, Julia Masters, Nicholas Recollet-Boivin and Ohm Patel spend time in the school’s contemporary library.

The school also offers Specialist High Skills Majors in five sectors: Business – Personal Finance; Construction – Architectural and Technology Design; Environment – Sustainable Agriculture; Manufacturing – Engineering, Design + Innovative Technology (EDIT); and Transportation – Automotive. In addition, students enjoy programs that showcase their creativity including music, drama and visual arts.

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School provides a learning environment fit for the 21st century with bright classrooms, a cafeteria with café-style setting, contemporary libraries, modern science labs, and technology shops for construction, manufacturing, transportation, computer science, robotics and engineering. Students can also enjoy a variety of outdoor amenities including revitalized basketball and tennis courts and an outdoor skating rink.

“We invite everyone to join us on January 14th,” says Principal Potvin. “Don’t miss it!”
