Confederation S.S. presents the Seussification of Romeo and Juliet

Confederation Secondary School is gearing up for its spring drama presentation. The school will present The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet during the evenings on April 9th and 10th and April 16th and 17th, 2010.

“Nunka… Zunka… Hola Cora Nunka!  Nutso… is the only way to describe The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet,” says drama teacher Jesse Brooks.

Written by Peter Bloedel and performed by the Confederation Secondary School Drama Squad, the high-energy performance is the story of Romeo and Juliet told from the perspective of Dr. Seuss.

“Rhymes and crazy characters attack the stage in a combination of romance and clinical insanity,” says Brooks. “Children will love this production and, although they may not want to admit it, so will adults!”

The drama squad thanked Principal Mike Mirka and Vice-Principal Dave St. Amour for supporting their efforts.

“We welcome this opportunity to showcase our drama students to the community,” said Principal Mirka. “They have been working diligently on stage and behind the scenes to bring this unique performance to life. The show will appeal to young and old alike and we certainly encourage everyone to attend.”

Tickets, at $10 for adults and $6 for students, are available by calling the school at 671-5948 or by emailing Jesse Brooks at [email protected].

Doors open at 6:30 pm and the performances begin at 7 pm.
