Lasalle Secondary School presents its Annual Spring Concert on April 26

The Lasalle Secondary School Music Department will present its annual spring concert on Monday, April 26, 2010. The concert begins at 7 pm in the Lasalle Secondary School gymnasium. Admission is by donation only.

The concert will feature the Lasalle Secondary School Intermediate Concert Band, Senior Concert Band, Junior Jazz Ensemble, Senior Jazz Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, which won Gold at the Kiwanis Festival, Guitar Ensemble, which also won Gold at the Kiwanis Festival, and Orchestra.

The Lasalle Secondary School Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble will premiere a song written by Andy Lowe and arranged by music teacher Roger Finlay. Andy Lowe will perform the song with both groups.

As part of the concert, there will also be a special performance by the Grade 11/12 Drama class. The class won an Award of Merit at the Sears Drama Festival.

“Mr. Finlay is retiring this year, so this is his last concert with the school,” said Lasalle Secondary School Principal Jeff McKibbon. “Several music students who have since graduated have volunteered to come back and play with the bands for old times sake.”

He added: “This will certainly be a memorable tribute to Mr. Finlay who has devoted many years to the success of the music program at Lasalle Secondary School. We invite the entire community to come out and enjoy our annual spring concert.”
