CVDCS students collect food in the community on Tuesday, December 14th
Students and staff from Chelmsford Valley District Composite School will be out in the community on Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 collecting non-perishable food items for the Chelmsford Food Bank.
“Our community secondary school has a long tradition of collecting canned food from the families of our students,” said Chelmsford Valley District Composite School Principal Mike Mirka.
“This year, we would like to reach out to the community at large and invite everyone to support our efforts,” he said. “Students will be walking the streets of Chelmsford, knocking on doors, and collecting non-perishable food items throughout the school day.”
Chelmsford Valley District Composite School thanks C&D Bus Lines for offering the use of a bus for this event.
The Chelmsford community is invited to help support their local food bank and secondary school by welcoming students when they go door-to-door.
Residents who will not be home and would like to donate are invited to leave a bag or box of canned food at their front door.
Donations will also be accepted at the school.
