What’s happening in Rainbow Schools?
Rainbow Schools continue to host positive parenting seminars
Rainbow Schools continue to host a series of seminars on positive parenting at various schools in the community. The seminars are part of the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), which helps parents with small changes that can make a big difference.
The three-part series focuses on the Power of Positive Parenting; Raising Confident, Competent Children; and Raising Resilient Children.
These free seminars are being presented in partnership with community organizations that support children. Childcare will be available at each site compliments of local service providers.
“Triple P is a world-renowned program that fosters positive, caring relationships between parents and children,” said Rainbow District School Board Director of Education Norm Blaseg. “All parents/guardians will benefit from these informative seminars and are welcome to attend.”
Triple P suggests simple routines and small changes that can make a big difference to families by developing positive attitudes, skills and behaviour. This fosters family relationships that encourage children to realize their full potential.
Triple P has been developed and scientifically proven over 30 years by The University of Queensland Parent and Family Support Centre, with international collaboration. The system is widely in use throughout Australia and increasingly, throughout the world. For more information, visit triplepontario.ca.
