Rainbow District School Board honours Student Trustee Sloan Boyd

Rainbow District School Board Chair Tyler Campbell paid tribute to Student Trustee Sloan Boyd who attended her final Board meeting on Monday, June 20, 2011. Sloan Boyd is a Grade 12 student at Sudbury Secondary School. "As elected officials, we have a responsibility to develop our future leaders and student trustees help us to achieve this important objective," said Chair Campbell. "Rainbow Schools are all about students and Sloan Boyd brought the student perspective to the table."
In thanking Sloan Boyd for her contribution, he indicated: "You proved to be an articulate and passionate advocate for students as you never hesitated to speak up and provide your input on the important decisions being made." He added: "We wish you continued success as you pursue your postsecondary studies in law and justice at Laurentian University. I know the skills that you learned as an Arts Education student at Sudbury Secondary School will serve you well as you look to the future."
