First Place Winners in Battle of the Books

Congratulations to Grade 5/6 students from Central Manitoulin Public School for winning top honours at the Battle of the Books tournament held at Walden Public School during Education Week (May 7 to 11, 2012). The students competed against eight other teams and finished first.  Over a two-month period, the students read approximately 30 books and were tested on their knowledge of those books during the tournament.  Team members were, back row, from left, Laura Brown, Grace Duncanson, Skye McGibbon, Bethany Wesno, Alayna Cranston and James Scott; and front row, from left, Chris Haner and Matthew Redmond. Central Manitoulin Public School extends its thanks to Debbie Robinson of the Assiginack Library for finding most of the books for the team to read.
