A.B. Ellis Public School Students Explore Science

AB Ellis students at Science North

A.B. Ellis Public School held a Science Exploration Day at Science North on Monday, May 6, 2013 during Education Week. Senior Kindergarten student, Logan Vincent, left, parent volunter Amy Collins-Gunson, and Junior Kindergarten student, Hope Gunson, discover Ripley’s Believe It or Not.

On Monday, May 6, 2013, A.B. Ellis Public School students had an opportunity to explore Science North, Greater Sudbury’s interactive science museum.  Students travelled by bus to Sudbury and participated in hands-on science discovery activities including butterfly life stages, the wetlands lab and the erosion table.

Students also explored the Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not. Students were in awe while standing beside a replica of the world’s tallest man. They enjoyed many astonishing artifacts including the two-headed calf, and a life size car made out of toothpicks.

This wonderful day of learning was made possible with the generous support of parent volunteers and Rainbow District School Board.

A.B. Ellis Public School thanks everyone for giving these children a memorable day of science exploration as part Education Week celebrations.
