Board congratulates winners of the Technological Skills Competition

Rainbow District School Board hosted its ninth annual Technological Skills Competition at Cambrian College on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. Over 100 secondary school students tested their skills in events such as carpentry, welding, fashion, TV/video editing, photography, auto service technology, 2D character animation, cabinet making, small powered equipment and home building. Students were vying for an opportunity to compete in the provincial Skills Competition in Waterloo this May.
“On behalf of Rainbow District School Board, I would like to congratulate all of the participants in this year’s Technological Skills Competition,” said Board Chair Doreen Dewar. “We wish all students competing at the provincial level continued success.”
Participants took home a number of wonderful prizes thanks to the support of community businesses and organizations, including the Sudbury & Manitoulin Workforce Planning Board, Sudbury Construction Association, Lowe’s, the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), among many others.
