Judy Noble appointed Superintendent of Schools
Norm Blaseg, Director of Education for Rainbow District School Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Judy Noble as Superintendent of Schools effective June 30, 2014.
“Judy Noble has held a number of positions of added responsibility at the elementary, secondary and system levels,” said Director Blaseg. “She is a highly respected educator who is well prepared to assume her new leadership role.”
“I welcome this opportunity to continue to contribute to the education of children and youth in our community,” said Superintendent Noble. “Having a diploma opens doors for the future. In Rainbow Schools, there are many ways for students to achieve success and fulfill their aspirations.”
Judy Noble has 25 years of experience with Rainbow Schools, including 15 years in senior leadership roles. During the 2013-2014 school year, she served as Senior Administrator of Program and Services with responsibility for the Student Success Initiative as well as parental involvement, environmental education, healthy schools, violence threat risk assessment, summer school and volunteers.
As the Board’s Student Success Leader since September 2010, she has shared her expertise on a system-wide basis to provide opportunities for all students in Grades 7 to 12 to achieve success in all pathways – independent living, work, apprenticeship, college and university. In this role, she has provided leadership for Co-operative Education, the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, Dual Credits, Specialist High Skills Majors, Prior Learning Assessment Recognition and Supervised Alternative Learning.
Prior to providing system-wide leadership, Judy Noble served as Principal of Lively District Secondary School and Copper Cliff Public School as well as Vice-Principal of Lockerby Composite School and Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. Judy Noble has also been an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education.
Judy Noble has a Masters of Education from Nipissing University, a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario.
