“Rainbow District School Board values the student voice,” said Chair Doreen Dewar in welcoming Liam Brunton to his new role. “He will bring this important perspective to the table as a Student Trustee.”
She added: “He will also have an opportunity to gain a first-hand look at the role of elected officials in a democratic society as well as develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.”
Liam Brunton looks forward to connecting with the students of Rainbow District School Board. “To be able to represent students at Board meetings is an honour,” he said. “I am very excited to be the Student Trustee this year. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to make a difference.”

He has been a curler for the past 13 years. Last season, his competitive team participated in the 2014 Ontario Winter Games, where they placed sixth.
“I love my school and I enjoy getting involved whenever I can,” said Liam Brunton.  “I encourage students at all schools to participate in the many co-curricular activities that are offered to take full advantage of their educational experience.”
