Quilt provides rich learning tool at Cyril Varney Public School

Grade 4/5 students from Cyril Varney Public School worked diligently to produce a quilt for their visual arts class. Under the guidance of teacher Toni Richer, students designed their own squares using the basics of sewing such as threading, knotting and simple stitching. The quilt was sewn together by student volunteers and is proudly displayed in the school’s main foyer. It will be passed down to future classes as a learning tool. This project demonstrates co-operation, Rainbow District School Board’s character trait for the month of May. Quilters include, from left, Arkariah Walters, Kaitlyn Lloyd, Amelia Larochelle, Mackenzie St. Amant, Lilianna Osawamick, Sydney Finley-Gauthier and Hunter Brear. Absent: Vada Seguin and Oceana Lang.
