Dennis Bazinet appointed Superintendent of Business

Norm Blaseg, Director of Education for Rainbow District School Board, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dennis Bazinet as Superintendent of Business effective Monday, February 15, 2016.

As Superintendent of Business, he will lead facilities maintenance and operations, information services, finance and some aspects of human resources. He will also oversee the development of the Board’s annual budget, long-term capital and accommodation plans, and revitalization projects.

Dennis Bazinet has 25 years of experience in the education sector, primarily at the senior level. He began his career in the private sector. He has served as Special Projects Administrator with Rainbow District School Board for the past two years.
 
“Dennis Bazinet is well prepared to assume his new leadership role,” said Director Blaseg. “Committed to excellence, he will ensure that the budget provides the financial framework for the Board to achieve its vision, mission and priorities.”

He added: “He will also ensure that the various business departments continue to foster dynamic teaching and learning environments in Sudbury, Espanola, Manitoulin Island and Shining Tree.”

“I look forward to supporting Rainbow District School Board’s strategic directions, with a focus on student achievement and well-being,” said Dennis Bazinet. “Rainbow Schools offer exceptional opportunities for students in English and French Immersion. Dennis Bazinet has an Honours Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University, a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University, and Business Supervisory Officer qualifications. He is a graduate of École secondaire Macdonald-Cartier in Sudbury.
