Monetville Public School is a beautiful rural school community located in the heart of North Monetville, serving approximately 100 students from Kindergarten through Grade 8. Named after the area’s founder, Mr. Cyril Monette, our school first opened its doors on January 3, 1950. For more than 75 years, Monetville Public School has been a proud part of the local community, creating a strong sense of belonging for students, families and staff.

Our school is located near the southwestern boundary of the Rainbow District School Board, with our attendance area extending along Highway 64 East and East Road in North Monetville. The school boundary also includes the area west and south of Delamere Road in Alban to Highway 69 South.

At Monetville Public School, our dedicated teachers and support staff are committed to creating a caring, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student is supported to achieve their full potential. We take pride in knowing our students well and in fostering strong relationships that help them feel valued, connected and successful.

Our team generously volunteers their time to provide students with a wide range of extracurricular opportunities, including track and field, floor hockey, basketball, volleyball, choir, book club and Eco Club. These experiences allow students to discover new interests, develop leadership skills, build friendships and celebrate their many talents.

We are proud to offer Kindergarten for four and five-year-old students. Our Kindergarten program provides children with opportunities to learn through play, exploration and inquiry while building on their natural curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm for learning.

Our breakfast program is supported by Better Beginnings, Better Futures, Childhood Enfance, and our fruit and vegetable snack program is sponsored by the Northern Fruit and Vegetable Program. These programs help ensure that students have the nourishment they need to learn, grow and thrive throughout the school day.

Monetville students have the opportunity to learn both French and Ojibwe. Our language programs extend beyond language instruction, providing students with opportunities to learn about the cultures, histories and traditions connected to these important languages. Our Ojibwe program is enriched through the annual arrival of Grade 5 students from the nearby Dokis First Nation, creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn from and alongside one another.

Our School Council is an active and valued partner in our school community. Council members meet regularly to provide advice and input on matters affecting our school and to support initiatives that enhance learning and well-being for all students. Parents and caregivers have always played an important role at Monetville Public School, and we value the strong partnerships we share with our families.

Throughout the school year, students participate in a variety of special events, celebrations and learning experiences. These opportunities strengthen our school culture, encourage school spirit and provide students with meaningful ways to connect with one another and with the broader community.
