Jamie Mohamed appointed Principal of Manitoulin Secondary School
Rainbow District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Mohamed as Principal of Manitoulin Secondary School effective February 6, 2017.
Jamie Mohamed joined the Board in September 1997 at Manitoulin Secondary School, where he taught a variety of subjects, including Business Accounting, Economics, Computer Programming, Communications Technology and English.
He was promoted to Vice-Principal of Manitoulin Secondary School in September 2001. Five years later, he was transferred to Vice-Principal of Espanola High School. He has been Principal of Little Current Public School since September 2008.
“I have truly enjoyed working with the staff, students and community at Little Current Public School over the past eight and a half years,” said Principal Mohamed. “I have learned as much from them as they have learned from me.”
He added: “I spent the first nine years of my career with the Board at Manitoulin Secondary School and welcome the opportunity to return in a leadership role. I am eager to start working with everyone. Manitoulin Secondary School is a great place to learn.”
Prior to joining the Board, Jamie Mohamed spent two years teaching in Bearskin Lake First Nation and a half-year teaching in Toronto.
Principal Mohamed has a Degree in Business Administration with a major in Computer Information Systems Management and a Masters of Business Administration from Lake Superior State University. He also has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto.
Retired Principal Margaret Stringer will serve as Interim Principal of Little Current Public School from February 6, 2017 to June 30, 2017. She was Principal of Little Current Public School from 2003 to 2008.
