2021-2022 Annual Report for Rainbow Schools now available online

Rainbow District School Board’s Annual Report for the 2021-2022 school year is now available online at rainbowschools.ca or bit.ly/rdsbannualreport21-22.

During the past school year, Rainbow District School Board approved its five-year strategic plan with broad input. Strategic Directions 2022-2027 defines the vision, mission, values and priorities of the Board and its schools.

The Annual Report provides an overview of key activities undertaken to address the strategic priorities – Student Success and Achievement, Truth and Reconciliation, Literacy and Numeracy, Mental Health and Well-Being, Environmental Education and Sustainability, and Equity and Inclusive Education.

The Annual Report also offers an overview of the current Board budget which includes investments in priority areas to support student well-being and achievement.

“This Annual Report represents a snapshot of another unprecedented period in education,” said Chair Bob Clement. “The school year began with many restrictions, but it ended on a more hopeful note with the return of in-person graduations. Regardless of the circumstances, our staff and students continued to shine.”

“I would like to acknowledge the students of Rainbow Schools, who continue to make us proud through their individual and collective achievements in arts, athletics and academics,” said Director of Education Bruce Bourget. “To attend school during a global pandemic isn’t easy, but our students responded with resiliency and a growth mindset that will serve them well in learning and in life.”

He added: “Parents/guardians and education partners also responded with patience and kindness, supporting student learning whether in class, at home or in the community. We are grateful for their ongoing contribution to student achievement.”

School Boards are required to produce an Annual Report in accordance with The Education Act.
