April 4: Kevin Breit & Sisters Euclid headline Guitars Alive

Since its launch in 2003, Sudbury’s Guitars Alive has continued to be a successful event, raising money in support of local guitar students. This year, internationally renowned guitarist Kevin Breit & Sisters Euclid will headline the show taking place on Saturday, April 4th at 7:30 pm at Sudbury Secondary School’s Sheridan Auditorium.

The concert will kick off with guitar ensembles from Chelmsford, Larchwood and Levack Public Schools and continue with groups from Sudbury Secondary School and Lasalle Secondary School. The program will also feature the Cambrian College Classical Guitar Ensembles and the Laurentian University Jazz Guitar Ensemble with soloist Matt Yzereef. Following a brief intermission, Kevin Breit & Sisters Euclid will take the stage for an extended one hour set.

Kevin Breit was born in the small Northern Ontario hamlet of McKerrow. At 17, he moved to Toronto and began working in and out of studios and concert settings. He has recorded with Cassandra Wilson, Rosanne Cash, Holly Cole, k.d. Lang, Janis Ian, Patti Scialfa, Marc Jordan, Quartette, Natalie McMaster, the Barra MacNeills, Molly Johnson, Sass Jordan, Serena Ryder and Carlos del Junco, to list only a few.

Kevin is currently a member of Grammy Award winner Norah Jones’ Handsome Band and his song Humble Me is featured on her new album Feels Like Home. When he is not in session or touring, Kevin performs with Sisters Euclid, Folk Alarm, and the Tallboys.

This concert is a must see for guitar fans!
