Arrangements for Lansdowne/Sudbury Secondary students who walk home
Arrangements have now been finalized for students who walk home from Lansdowne Public School and Sudbury Secondary School and who were relocated earlier today as a result of the fire at the Steelworkers Hall.
Walkers from Lansdowne Public School are being bused to St. David Separate School, 350 Jean Street (back parking lot). Parents/guardians are being asked to pick up their children as of 4 pm. Staff will remain on site until all children have been picked up by parents/guardians.
Walkers from Sudbury Secondary School will be bused back home. Sudbury Secondary School students who live in the area that is currently cordoned off as a result of the fire will be transported to St. David Separate School. Parents/guardians are being asked to pick up their children as of 3:45 pm. Staff will remain on site until all students have been picked up. The affected area is from Mackenzie Street to Baker Street to Lansdowne Street to Frood Road.
Here is an update on other transportation details released earlier this afternoon:
Students from Lansdowne Public School have been picked up at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. Buses on routes K705 and K713 are scheduled to drop Lansdowne students off at their regular stops on time. A 20-minute delay in the drop off time is anticipated for Lansdowne students returning home on routes L571 and L578.
Students from Sudbury Secondary School were transported to Marymount Academy to board their regular buses home. All buses departed on time.
