August 27: Sudbury Secondary hosts Red Carpet Day and Arts Education Creative Kickstart

Sudbury Secondary School will roll out the red carpet for its new cohort of Grade 9 students on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm.

Red Carpet Day will kick off in the Sheridan Auditorium where students will be greeted by staff and student leaders. Students will then have the opportunity to explore the school grounds and facilities in anticipation of the school year ahead. A free lunch will be provided.

At noon, students enrolled in the Arts Education Program are invited to stay for the Arts Education Orientation and Creative Kickstart – an engaging introduction to the school’s vibrant arts community.

“Our school is known for its arts education program which has a rich tradition of excellence,” says Principal Heather Downey. “There is so much to celebrate at Sudbury Secondary School. Students are welcome to join us and experience the excitement first-hand.”

Sudbury Secondary School provides a modern and dynamic learning environment. The arts wing features the city’s best-equipped dance studio, drama studio/black box theatre, media lab with green screens, visual arts studios, Mac lab, photography classroom and darkroom, vocal and instrumental music rooms and practice rooms, and a spectacular 450-seat auditorium to showcase student talent.

Sudbury Secondary School is located at 154 College Street in Sudbury.

The first day of school is Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
