Award-winning filmmaker to attend the Evolutionary Mother’s Day concert

An award-winning filmmaker of international acclaim will be in the audience when Confederation Secondary School’s Evolutionary Band presents its annual Mother’s Day Concert on Saturday, May 10th. Rob Heydon is developing a special feature length documentary on the band and looking to launch the production at France’s Cannes Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival and Sudbury’s own Cinefest.

"I will be flying in to witness Evolutionary for the first time," says Heydon. "I have heard from contacts and associates in the music industry about the REVOLUTIONARY show that Evolutionary performs, blowing audiences away. I love the story about this band and crew and see this as a great documentary."

Evolutionary promises to "rock you mama’s chair" at the upcoming concert. The show, taking place at 7:30 pm in the gym at Confederation Secondary School, 1918 Main Street West in Val Caron, will begin with local artist Jess Lee. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and everyone is welcome to attend. Q92’s Holly Thorne will host the concert. Listen to Q92 for a chance to win tickets.

Tickets, at $10 each, are available from members of the band and crew, the main office at Confederation Secondary School and Jett Landry Music in Sudbury. Tickets will also be available at the door. To ensure your seat at this must-see performance, be sure to purchase your tickets early. The Mother’s Day Concert has been SOLD OUT in the past.

Rob Heydon’s credits include films such as Go Further with Woody Harrelson and the upcoming Ecstasy based on the number one bestseller by Irvine Welsh, writer of Trainspotting.  Rob Heydon received a Juno Award for Best Music Video "Alive" (Edwin) which reached number one on Much Music and Much More Music.  He has produced and directed over 100 music videos.
