Community consultations this spring for French Immersion Program Review
Rainbow District School Board will host a series of community consultations this spring as part of the French Immersion Program Review. Meetings will be held by school area throughout the month of May.
The French Immersion Program Review Committee will share recommendations, which may include boundary changes, consolidation of programs and revisions to secondary French Immersion graduation requirements. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings to provide input.

Presentations will be limited to 10 minutes. Written copies must be made available prior to the meeting and submitted to the French immersion Program Review Committee for the minutes.

Rainbow District School Board trustees approved a review of the Board’s French Immersion Program at the annual Accommodation Meeting held on January 24, 2011. A French Immersion Program Committee, comprised of teachers and administrators in French Immersion, has been established to lead the process and make recommendations.
The Board’s Executive Council will present recommendations regarding the French Immersion Program Review to the Board on Monday, September 19, 2011. The Board will hear public presentations in response to the recommendations on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. The Board’s Executive Council will present its final recommendations to the Board for approval on Monday, November 21, 2011.
