Confident Public Speaker Candon Dionello Captures Top Honours

A Grade 5 student from Lansdowne Public School has captured top honours in public speaking. Candon Dionello placed first at the Royal Canadian Legion Public Speaking competition in Onaping on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Candon will now be advancing to the Northern Ontario Competition in Blind River on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Candon’s speech, fittingly entitled "Confidence", described the skills necessary to be a proficient public speaker. “We thank Candon’s teacher and parents for supporting him in his pursuit of writing, refining and delivering an outstanding speech,” says Principal Lisa Piquette.  “Public speaking is a valuable life skill that will benefit students in many facets of school and work.” Congratulations!
