Espanola High School launches Halloween for Hunger Food Drive

Halloween for Hunger

Espanola High School students are turning Halloween spirit into community action with the Halloween for Hunger Food Drive.

Students will canvass neighbourhoods in Espanola, Massey, Sagamok, Willisville, Whitefish River First Nation and Nairn Centre on Tuesday, October 27th from 3 pm to 6 pm to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the Espanola Helping Hand Food Bank and local food banks.

“Halloween for Hunger is a meaningful opportunity for students to give back to their community and recognize the importance of helping others,” said Espanola High School Principal Andrea Therrien. “Through this initiative, students see first-hand how their efforts can positively impact local families and strengthen their community.”

Community members who wish to contribute can also drop off food donations directly at Espanola High School until Friday, October 30th.

Monetary donations can be made online through SchoolCash Online here:

“We are proud of our students for showing compassion, taking initiative, and contributing to the communities in which they live and learn,” said Principal Therrien. “On behalf of Espanola High School, we thank the community for its support as we join together to make this Halloween a little brighter for those in need.”

Espanola High School is located at 147 Spruce Street in Espanola.
