A.B. Ellis Public School
A.B. Ellis Public School will host a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 14th at 1 pm and again on Friday, December 15th at 1 pm in the school gym. Those interested in attending are asked to contact the school at 705-869-1651 to reserve a free ticket.

Adamsdale Public School
Adamsdale Public School students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will present a Christmas concert on Monday, December 18th, at 12 pm and again at 6 pm. The school’s Glee Club and Ojibwe Choir will also perform. The public is welcome. There is no cost for admission.

Alexander Public School
Alexander Public School will host its annual Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 2 pm and Wednesday, December 20th at 11:45 am in the school gym. The theme is “The Countdown to Christmas”. During the concert, School Council members will sell a medley of cookie platters for $10. Please note: Guests are asked not to park in the bus loading zone.

Algonquin Road Public School
Algonquin Road Public School’s holiday concert will take place on Monday, December 18th at 12 pm in the school gym. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 will perform. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place on Tuesday, December 19th at 12 pm.

Students in Grades 4 to 8 will host a potluck lunch on Thursday, December 21st at 11 am for parents/guardians and families.

Assiginack Public School
On Thursday, November 23rd, students from Assiginack Public School’s Grade 2/3 class kicked off the season of giving by sending “Merry Christmas from Manitoulin” treat boxes to members of the Canadian Armed Forces who are deployed overseas.

The entire Assiginack Public School community will collect unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items for the ‘Stuff-A-Bus’ campaign. This event will support the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Donations will be accepted until Friday, December 15th at 9 am. Items will be delivered to the Manitoulin Family Resources Food Bank.

Beginning Monday, December 11th, intermediate students will help primary students create Christmas ornaments to decorate the Community Park.

All students and staff will enjoy a performance from the Manitoulin Secondary School Band on Wednesday, December 13th at 10 am. Community members are welcome.

To embrace the holiday spirit, students will present a festive Christmas Concert, “A Mad Christmas,” on Monday, December 18th at 6:30 pm in the school gym. Everyone is welcome.

Students and staff will enjoy a pancake breakfast on Friday, December 22nd. At 1:45 pm, a Christmas carol sing along will take place in the school gym.

Carl A. Nesbitt Public School
Carl A. Nesbitt Public School is taking part in the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. The Student Parliament has a variety of activities planned throughout the month to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations.

The entire school will attend the Sudbury Theatre Centre’s production of “A Christmas Story” on Wednesday, December 13th.

The Northern Brass Quartet will visit the school on Friday, December 15th to perform a selection of holiday favorites.

Central Manitoulin Public School
The community joined staff and students for the annual Island Schools Christmas Concert at Manitoulin Secondary School on Thursday, December 7th.

The school will participate in the “Stuff-A-Bus” event to collect food items, and new unwrapped toys for Manitoulin Family Resources up until December 15th.

The Manitoulin Secondary School Band will perform for staff and students on Thursday, December 14th at 9:30 am.

Students and staff at Central Manitoulin Public School will collect non-perishable food items for the local food bank until the Christmas Concerts on Wednesday, December 20th at 9:30 am and 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Grade 3 and ISP classes will be out caroling in Mindemoya near the school on Wednesday, December 22nd at 9:30 am. They will gather back at the school for the 11 am assembly to celebrate Fall Fair Award winners and sing carols.

Charles C. McLean Public School
In the spirit of Christmas, students and staff at C.C. McLean Public School will collect non-perishable food items until Friday, December 15th in support of the Manitoulin Family Resources’ Christmas Basket campaign. Unwrapped toy and monetary donations are welcome.

The community joined C.C. McLean’s Grade 2/3 class for a special Island holiday concert at Manitoulin Secondary School on Thursday, December 7th. The Manitoulin Secondary School Concert Band, Vocal Group, and various ensembles from Island elementary schools performed. The Manitoulin Secondary School Band will perform at the school on Thursday, December 14th at 1:30 pm.

The school will host a Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 6:30 pm in the gym. Everyone is welcome.

The community is invited to join staff and students on Friday, December 22nd for a Christmas sing along at 9:15 am in the gym.

Chelmsford Public School
The Chelmsford Public School choir kicked off the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive at the New Sudbury Centre on November 16th. The choir will continue to spread holiday cheer to residents at two retirement homes in December.

On Tuesday, December 19th all students, staff and guests will enjoy a turkey feast, prepared by staff and parents/guardians.

Families are invited to a Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 20th.

On Thursday, December 21st, staff and students will spend the day at Science North.

Chelmsford Public School will collect recycled gently used toys, books, and various treasures as gifts during their “Christmas Treasure Swap.” Students are encouraged to sift through their toy chests and give a treasure to each sibling in their family. This initiative is meant to support the spirit of giving in an environmentally conscious way. The Christmas Treasure Swap will take place on Friday, December 22nd.

C.R. Judd Public School
Students at C.R. Judd Public School will take part in a series of activities throughout the month of December including the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Proceeds will support the local Bread & Roses Food Bank.

On Thursday, December 7th, students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 posed for photos with Santa at the Capreol Northern Credit Union.

On Friday, December 8th, students decorated ornaments to sell at the Christmas concert. All funds raised will support the food drive.

From Wednesday, December 13th to Friday, December 15th, the school will host a Christmas Book Fair in the Library.

From Friday, December 1st to Tuesday, December 19th, students and staff at Copper Cliff Public School will collect non-perishable food items for the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Students will also sell candy grams.

Throughout the month, the school’s Go Green Club will collect gently used or new scarves, hats and mitts for families in need. A Holiday hat, mitt and scarf tree will be displayed in the school foyer.

On Thursday, December 7th at 1:30 pm, students in Grade 1/2 delivered gifts to the residents of the Walford on the Park retirement home. During the visit, students engaged in a carol sign along.

The school’s annual Christmas Dance for students in Grades 6 to 8 will take place on Wednesday, December 13th from 6 pm to 8 pm in the school gym. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Staff and students invite family members to the Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 6 pm. Non-perishable food items will be collected as admission. The School Council will have baked goods available for purchase.

On Thursday, December 21st at 10 am, the school’s Choir and Chimes Ensemble will perform for the residents and wrap up this festive event singing holiday carols.

Cyril Varney Public School
Cyril Varney Public School will host a “Starry Night” holiday concert on Wednesday, December 20th at 1 pm and again at 5:30 pm. Admission will be a non-perishable food item or monetary donation in support of the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Students are invited to purchase candy grams to send holiday wishes to their friends. Proceeds will support the food drive.

Shoebox donations are being collected to support First Nations communities in Northern Ontario. Parents/guardians and students can purchase student-made wooden Christmas tree ornaments. Students will also take part in a Christmas “Bling Day” and sing along.

Ernie Checkeris Public School
Ernie Checkeris Public School is participating in the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Students and staff will take part in a variety of holiday themed activities to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations for the campaign.

On Wednesday, December 13th, students and staff will host a Christmas concert titled “Noël chez Checkeris”. This event will take place in the school gym at 12 pm and 6 pm. Parents/guardians are invited to attend.

Larchwood Public School
Staff and students at Larchwood Public School kicked off a food drive on Thursday, November 30th with a visit to the CP Holiday Train in Cartier. Students brought a non-persishable food item to support “Falls Food”, which serves Cartier, Levack and Dowling. Throughout the month of December, students will take part in a variety of events to support the drive, including a hot breakfast. The goal is to collect 1,000 food items.

On Tuesday, December 19th students will present, “A Celebration of the Season” which will feature vocal, dance, and instrumental acts. Performances will take place at 1:30 pm and 6 pm. Admission is a non-perishable food item.

On Wednesday, December 20th and Friday, December 22nd, staff and students will take part in a sing along at 9 am in the gym. Families are invited to attend.

Levack Public School
On Thursday, November 30th, students from Levack Public School visited the Holiday Train in Cartier.

In support of the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive, students will collect non-perishable food items until Tuesday, December 19th. If students bring 1,000 or more food items, members of the teaching staff will be duct taped to the wall during a special assembly on Thursday, December 21st.

On Sunday, December 10th at 7pm, the Levack Choir performed at the St. John’s 42nd Annual Carolfest.

On Wednesday, December 20th at 6 pm, the school will host a Christmas concert in the school gym. Performances will include the Levack Choir, the Onaping Falls Community Choir and students from Larchwood Public School. A bake sale and penny table will be set up. Admission is a non-perishable food item. Everyone is welcome.

Staff and students will take part in a Christmas sing along on Thursday, December 21st at 9:30 am in the school gym. The Levack Public School Rock Band and Choir will perform in English and French. All parents/guardians are welcome.

Staff and students will participate in a Holiday Sweater Spirit Day that will include a free skate at the Jim Coady Memorial Arena on Friday, December 22nd.

Little Current Public School
The Little Current Public School Choir performed at the Manitoulin Secondary School Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 7th at 7 pm.

The Manitoulin Secondary School Band will perform a special holiday concert for students on Wednesday, December 13th at 1:30 pm in the school gym.

Students and staff will collect unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items for the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Donations will be accepted until Friday, December 15th. A Kids Only Christmas Shopping Extravaganza will take place on Friday, December 15th. Students will have the opportunity to purchase items for their family and friends. All items have been donated and will cost $3 or less. All proceeds from this event will be donated to a local charity.

MacLeod Public School
All students will participate in various activities throughout the month to raise funds and collect food items for the Sudbury Food Bank. Some include a Movie Day, Hat Day, Holiday Bingo, Floor Hockey and Card Games all in an effort to collect one more can. A Random Acts of Kindness Wall will adorn the school foyer to celebrate the food drive’s 30th anniversary.

The school will host a holiday concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 9:15 am and 11:45 am. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 3 will perform. Residents from Autumnwood Retirement Residence will attend. Students in Grade 4 to 6 will decorate Gingerbread houses.

On Thursday, December 21st and Friday, December 22nd at 9 am, students and staff will gather for a sing along in the gym. MacLeod Alumni will perform.

Markstay Public School
In support of the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive, Markstay Public School students canvassed the local community on November 30th. Students will continue to collect food donations until Monday, December 18th. If the school meets its goal, selected staff will spend the night sleeping at the school on Tuesday, December 19th.

On Tuesday, December 19th at 5:30 pm, the school will host its annual winter concert. Baked goods and student-made ornaments will be for sale.

A holiday sing along will take place on Thursday, December 21st at 2:15 pm in the gym. Parent/guardians are invited to join.

Staff will cook a hot pancake breakfast for all the students on Friday, December 22nd.

Monetville Public School
Students at Monetville Public School took part in the annual Santa Claus Parade in Noelville on Sunday, November 26th.

Students are participating in the annual French River Lions Club Canned Food Drive until Friday, December 15th. All donations collected will support the Christmas Baskets program.

On Friday, December 8th, students, staff and Kikendawt Kinoomaadi Gamig enjoyed a pancake breakfast and a special visit from Santa.

Students will visit the Noelville Seniors Residence on Friday, December 15th for a Christmas sing along.

The school will host a winter concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 1:35 pm. Students from Grade 1 to 3 will perform the play, “How the Penguins Saved Christmas.” Students in Grades 4 to 8 will perform “A Christmas Carol”. The Student Council will host a bake sale. The public is welcome to attend.

Northeastern Elementary School
To kick off the season of giving, a staff vs. students volleyball game took place on December 8th. Admission was $1. Funds collected will support the Blue Door Soup Kitchen to help purchase a new dishwasher. Students wore red and black for a Spirit Day.

On Thursday, December 14th, the Student Council will host a bake sale during nutrition breaks. Baked goods will be $1. All proceeds will support the TD Toy Bank. Students will wear festive Christmas attire for a Spirit Day.

The school will host a Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 20th at 9 am in the gym. The theme is “Merry Christmas Eh?” Students will sell tickets for a beautiful wood calendar they built in the Maker Space. All proceeds will help support the Blue Door Soup Kitchen.

On Friday, December 22nd students will assist with a hot pancake breakfast including ham and juice. Cost will be $1. All proceeds will support The Sudbury Women’s Centre, a charitable organization dedicated to providing information, referral, and support services to women who have been impacted by violence and/or difficult life circumstances. During the breakfast, Santa will make an appearance. Students will wear pyjamas for a Spirit Day.

Princess Anne Public School
This holiday season, Princess Anne Public School will take part in the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. A variety of events will take place in an effort to collect food items, including the community food drive that took place on Thursday, November 30th. Students will also be volunteering at the Sudbury Food Bank throughout the month of December.

Staff and students will enjoy a Christmas Feast on Friday, December 15th.

On Wednesday, December 20th, students and staff will host a Christmas concert at 11 am and 6 pm in the school gym.

Redwood Acres Public School
Redwood Acres Public School has a number of events planned for the Christmas season. The school hosted a special movie night on December 7th. All proceeds will support the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive.

Students and staff will enjoy a Christmas Feast on Monday, December 18th. With help from community partners and School Council, all students will enjoy a delicious turkey dinner, complete with all the fixings.

The school will host a Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 20th and Thursday, December 21st.

R.H. Murray Public School
Staff and students at R.H. Murray Public School kicked off the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive on December 5th. Students will take part in various festive events to support the drive.

On December 9th, the R.H. Murray Snowflake Choir performed the opening ceremonies at the Anderson Farm Tree Lighting in Walden.

On Wednesday, December 13th at 5 pm, the Snowflake Choir will perform their holiday repertoire at the Beaver Lake Community Dinner.

Members of the school community will welcome students, staff and community partners to a festive luncheon on Friday, December 15th at 11:30 am.

Staff and students will wrap-up the season with an outdoor Christmas event from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, December 20th. The evening will feature horse drawn wagon rides, cookies and hot chocolate, performances, and the school’s annual draw for two tickets to anywhere WestJet flies. All members of the public are welcome to attend this true north event.

Students are invited to take part in Christmas caroling on Thursday, December 21st at 9:30 am.

R.L. Beattie Public School
In support of the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive, students participated in the the Foodanse challenge from November 27th to November 30th. The entire school community collected non-perishable food items from December 4th to December 8th.

The school will host a holiday concert “My Favourite Things” on Thursday, December 14th. Performances will take place at 9:30 am, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. The public is welcome to attend. DVDs of the performances are available for $10.

S. Geiger Public School
Students from S. Geiger are thrilled to present a Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 20th at 1:35 pm for families and members of the local community. Baked goods will be available for purchase. All funds will support the 2018-2019 Intermediate year-end trip. Guests are asked to bring a non-perishable food item.

Valley View Public School
Valley View Public School kicked-off the holiday season with the Edgar Burton Kids Helping Kids Food Drive on November 30th by collecting donations with Hat Day.

Starting December 11th, students are invited to send holiday cheer to a sibling or friend by purchasing candy canes for 5 cents.

The school will present its annual holiday concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 will perform. Parents/guardians are welcome.

The Walden Public School choir entertained guests at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Anderson Farm on December 9th. Students also performed for residents at Chartwell Meadowbrook Retirement Village.

Westmount Public School
The Westmount Wizards will host a Christmas concert on Thursday, December 21st at 9:30 am and 1:15 pm. Guests will enjoy performances from students in Kindergarten to Grade 2 en français.

Barrydowne College
The staff at Barrydowne College will host a special lunch for students on Tuesday, December 19th. Staff and students will prepare the meal in foods class. Staff and students will volunteer at the Out of The Cold Shelter, baking 200 cupcakes for those in need.

Chelmsford Valley District Composite School
The CVDCS Food Drive Hockey Game raised over 1,300 non-perishable food items for the local food bank La Madison d’Amitié/Friendship House. Please consider donating money, food or toiletries at any time of the year. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Espanola High School
Espanola High School will host a Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 7 pm. Baked goods will be available for purchase. Admission will be a donation to support the Joan Mantle Music Trust.

Lasalle Secondary School
Lasalle Secondary School will celebrate the holiday season with Student Council leading the way with Twelve Days of Lancer Christmas. From December 4th to 22nd, students will engage in daily activities such as Ornament Day and Wrap-a-Festive-Hat Day.

On Monday, December 11th at 7 pm, Winter MADness will take place in the gym, showcasing talented students in the music, drama, vocal and visual art programs.

On Friday, December 22nd, the school will come together for an annual Christmas Assembly.

Lasalle Secondary School, led by the Athletic Council, is actively collecting items in support of the Fill the Crib campaign. On Wednesday, December 20th, the Senior Boys’ Basketball team will play a team from the City of Greater Sudbury Police Services. Students have the opportunity to attend the game and make a donation. All donations will go to the Fill the Crib campaign.

Lively District Secondary School
ln the spirit of the holidays, staff and students at Lively District Secondary School will collect non-perishable food items to support the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive. Grade 7 and 8 students canvassed the local community on November 30th.

The Grade 7 and 8 Rock Bands performed at the Anderson Farm Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 9th.

The Grade 7 and 8 Concert Bands and Rock Bands will perform for parents, friends and community members at the annual festive concert on Tuesday, December 19th at 7:30 pm.

Students from Walden Public School will attend a concert on Wednesday, December 20th.

Students and staff will take part in a seasonal celebration on Thursday, December 21st.

Lockerby Composite School
The Lockerby Composite School Music Department will present its annual Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the McKellar Auditorium. Performances will include the Guitar Ensemble, the Concert Band and a special performance by the Grade 9 music class. Admission is by donation. All proceeds will support the purchase of supplies for the Music Department.

Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School
Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School hosted a Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 7th at 7 pm in the school gym. The concert, “A Christmas Knight,” featured the Junior and Senior Concert Bands, Jazz Band, Senior music class, and special guests “The No Strings Attached” Community Band.

Manitoulin Secondary School
The annual Island Schools Christmas Concert took place on December 7th. Island elementary schools joined Manitoulin Secondary School musicians to deliver a wonderful evening filled with Christmas cheer to the entire community. Proceeds from admission will support all school groups.

Sudbury Secondary School
Sudbury Secondary School, Adult Day School and the N’Swakamok Native Alternative School will celebrate the festive season with a holiday feast on Thursday, December 21st. The feast will be prepared by staff and served by community leaders.

On Friday, December 22nd, the school will host its annual Christmas assembly.
